Acid Rain is a type of weather that can occur on every autumn after the first one. When a Mushroom Sprout is in the world, acid rain will start and it will not stop until all Sprouts are chopped. It has various effects on the game world and the player, quickly making plants diseased, degrading player equipped clothing items and draining health. Having 100% water resistance will negate it's effects on the player, but not the world.
Mechanics[edit | edit source]
After the first year and if Toadstool is alive during autumn, Mushroom Sprouts will grow near the player once every couple days and Toadlings will spawn to protect them. If the Sprouts aren't chopped, acid rain will commence shortly after. Chopping all sprouts present in the world will stop the rain.
If a player doesn't have complete wetness resistance it'll slowly start to lose health and gear durability in addition to the wetness increase. Acid rain will quickly disease all plants if not stopped quickly.
Tips[edit | edit source]
- Since Toadlings have a slow movement speed, if the player isn't ready to fight them, it can chop the Sprouts to gain their attention, lure them away and come back to chop some more without getting hit.
- Having some Moon Oil prepared from the previous summer will help to cure plants that get diseased.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Acid rain used to spawn a Toad rain with it. This got removed during the Fear the Dark update and turned regular spawning frogs into Toads instead.
