Carrion Bees are a mutated form of Bees that spawn from Carrion Bee Hives found both in Lunar Island and during Moonstorms. They are more aggressive than their mainland counterparts, attacking most things on sight. Not only this, but they will also explode upon death. They drop either Carrion Honey or Hound's Teeth, and can be caught with a Bug Net to use them in crafting. Live Carrion Bees can be used to craft the Beeret and the Carrion Bee Mine. Using a Beeret reduces the damage from the explosion by 75%.

Placeholder.png Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Carrion Bees are heavily inspired by three real life species collectively known as Carrion Bees or Vulture Bees. These bees feed on decaying flesh and produce honey from the meat they collect.
    • While ingame they are incredibly hostile and predatory, the rotten appearance of the honey and honey comb is a reference to the scavanging behaviour of their real life counterparts.
