Glacial Hound

The Glacial Hound is a hound type that can appear during hound waves in Winter, like the Blue Hound.

When chasing the player it will behave similarly a regular hound, however it has a trick up its sleeve. Oftentimes when the hound gets close enough to bite, they'll instead lay down and close their eyes while small blue particles appear around them, signaling that they are about to shoot three ice spikes in quick succession at the player it's targeting. If hit enough times by ice spikes, the player will freeze.

Upon death, the Glacial Hound will leave behind a small icy area, similar to the icy area summoned from Klaus using his blue deer. Stepping on the icy area will dramatically lower your temperature, freezing in mere seconds, making stepping on it unadvised. The icy area will despawn after a few seconds.

Fighting Strategy

This hound is extremely powerful in a group, having the close-ranged power of themselves and their fellow hounds while providing deadly freezing ranged support in the form of ice spikes. The player should never try to attack while this hound is shooting ice spikes, else they wish to freeze and get stunlocked to death.

If there are 2 or more glacial hounds, it's best to try and get something else to fight it, as there will simply be too many things for the player to dodge effectively. Try to move diagonally to dodge any projectiles coming your way.
