Nymphs are passive mobs found in the Hooded Forest. They spawn from Infested Giant Redwoods and slowly fly over to a randomly set non-infested Giant Redwood to infect it, even while not loaded on-screen.
The Nymph can't attack, but it will gather any close Aphids to form a group along the way, which will follow the Nymph closely and protect it. Nymphs remove themselves and their Aphid followers if they were able to infest a tree, even when off-screen.
The frequency of Nymphs appearing is dependent on how many trees are currently infested, spawning fewer with more of the forest already being infested. If there are no infested trees left, then the Nymphs can't spawn.
Nymphs take 2 blasts from the Ice Staff to be frozen, and 3 Sleep Darts to be put to sleep. They drop Beeswax on death.
Tips
- The Bug Zapper can be used to easily deal with the Nymph and its Aphids, as they're both insects and will receive AOE damage from it.
Trivia
- They were formerly an Unimplemented Mob found in the files of the mod, all the way back since February 2021.
