Tail O' Twined Rats
–Wurt
The Tail O' Twined Rats is a craftable Weapon, made from three Twigs, one Rope and three Rat Tails.
At full hunger, the Tail O' Twined Rats will inflict 68 damage, drain 3
, and lose 1% durability on hit. As the player's hunger decreases, the damage of the Tail O' Twined Rats goes down from 68 to 34, the hunger drain decreases from 3 to 0, and durability consumption decreases from 1% to 0.5%. For the standard character at 150 maximum hunger, a hit will consume 2% of hunger, thus decreasing the Tail O' Twined Rats' damage by 0.68; subsequent hits will decrease the damage but at a gradually smaller amount. The player also naturally loses hunger over time at a rate of 9.375
/min, causing their damage to decrease at a rate of 2.125 damage per minute.
Items that modify hunger drain like Belt of Hunger, Funcaps, or Hibearnation Vest will reduce the hunger drain effects equal to their effectiveness. These modifiers stack mutliplicatively. However, the effectiveness of WX-78's circuits are added together before they are multiplied with the rest of the modifiers.
| Item | Multiplier |
|---|---|
| Belt of Hunger | 60% |
| Hibearnation Vest | 75% |
| Funcaps | 75% |
| Gastrogain Circuit | -7.5% each |
| Super-Gastrogain Circuit | -15% each |
Damage[edit | edit source]
The damage of the Tail O' Twined Rats is calculated using the formula:
D - is the total damage
m - are the damage modifiers
h - is the hunger percentage as a decimal
As seen above, if the character is under the effect of any damage modifier, only the base 34 damage is affected. The bonus damage can only be modified by the hunger percentage. For example, a Wigfrid using a Tail O' Twined Rats will inflict 76.5 (calculated by 34*1.25 + 34) damage at full hunger, in contrast to 85, her damage using a Dark Sword. Food effects such as Volt-Goat Chaud-Froid follow this rule.
Tips[edit | edit source]
- Since Winky can consistently spawn Rats, she can easily farm Rat Tails for her and her group. With those Rat Tails, Winky can mass produce Tail O' Twined Rats to bypass her damage downside.
- Characters with a low maximum hunger will have their hunger percentage drained at a significantly faster rate than a character with high maximum hunger, forcing them to consume food more often to maintain high weapon damage.
- Because damage modifiers are only 50% effective on the Tail O' Twined Rats, characters such as Warly, Wigfrid, and Wolfgang are less incentivized to use this weapon.
- A Tail O' Twined Rats has the same durability effectiveness as a Dark Sword, being able to do a total of 6,800 damage before breaking from full durability. Additionally, the weapon's durability effectiveness remains constant regardless of the player's hunger, meaning there is no hunger range where the weapon's combination between damage and durability loss is more optimized than others.
- The lowest amount of hunger drain can be achieved by being WX-78. Equipping four Super-Gastrogain Circuits, a Belt of Hunger, and a Funcap, WX-78 can achieve a 0.54 hunger drain per hit at full hunger.
