The cave Update is intended to be the fourth update on the roadmap here is the info about it
4: Cave Update:
The caves (ie anywhere but the Ruins/Atrium) give little to no reason for players to travel there. Since the update is so far off, we can't give details just yet, but expect more biomes, more life, more treasure and fun toys to play with, and of course more danger.
