We support character equality, everyone gets nerfed!

–Someone, maybe.

The Uncompromising Mode mod makes some adjustments to the Don't Starve Together characters cast with the intention of leveling their power levels into a similar range.

Icon Science.png Main changes are the changes directly made to the characters, while Interface arrow right.png Indirect changes don't come from the character itself, but rather come from other features affecting their gameplay. Modded Items Filter.png Optional changes are toggled off by default and need to be enabled in the mod configuration screen before launching a server.

A lot of the changes are configurable in the mod's settings.

Overall Changes

These apply to all characters:

  • Favorite.png Favorite Foods no longer give extra hunger, they instead provide a varying amount of sanity between 5-15 based on their stat total.
  • Insanity Icon.png The Sanity threshold for Insanity for all characters is now 20%, from 15%.
  • Health Meter.png Health and Sanity restoration from food happens over time instead of instantly.

  • Bernie Inactive.png Bernie now wards away Shadow Creatures when held.

Interface arrow right.png Indirect changes:

  • Insanity Icon.png Insanity Changes: as Insanity becomes more difficult, Willow's preexisting equipment and perks provides her more security over other characters.

  • Coach Wolfgang no longer restores sanity, but can be used while in either normal or mighty form.
  • Leg day reduces the cost and cooldown of Mighty Leap, and allows it to deal damage.
  • Push the Limits increases maximum mightiness from all sources. And doubles the rate you gain it from the gym.
  • Mighty Weapons reduces the Mightiness cost to perform a Mighty Strike
  • Faustian Bargain locks Wolfgang into his mighty form while reducing hunger drain and HP.

  • Monsterous Growth greatly increases Wolfgang's sailing and Fishing capabilities at the cost of partial Mermification.
  • Lunar Mastery allows Wolfgang to use Hunger in place of Mightiness to perform feats of strength, allows him to create ice floats by jumping into the ocean, and grants immunity to the Curse of the Moon Quey.

WX-78

Icon Science.png Main changes:

  • Circuit Extractor.png Removing Circuits will not waste Charge (Charge.png) from the Charge Meter.
  • Electrical Doodad.png The Charge Meter has been completely reworked.
    • The number of Circuit Slots have been increased from 6 to 8.
    • All Circuits become active when equipped as long as there's at least 1 Charge.png filled, otherwise, they will all become inactive.
    • While equipped and active, Circuits only last for 20 days before breaking.
      • WX-78 will have quotes about their "modules overheating" when the Circuits are close to breaking.
      • If a Circuit breaks while still equipped, WX-78 will have all of their remaining Circuits removed and lose all Charge.
    • If you have at least 1 slot in use, you will lose 1 Charge.png every 300 seconds.
      • Every slot used will decrease this time by 30 seconds.
    • While no slots are being used, 1 Charge.png will be refilled every 30 seconds.
    • Every time WX-78 consumes a total of 50 Hunger Meter.png worth of food at any time, the Charge Meter will be refilled by 1 Charge.png.
    • When an electric food is consumed, 6 Charge.png are filled.
    • Sleeping, excluding forced sleep, makes you regenerate 1 Charge.png every 6 + 2*(amount of occupied Charge Meter slots) seconds.
  • Bio Data.pngMost of the Circuits were changed or have new effects.
Circuit Changes
Circuit New/Changed Effects
Processing Circuit.pngSuper-Processing Circuit.png Processing Circuit gives +1.33Sanity Meter.png/min per minute and 7.5% Resistance to negative Sanity Auras, while Super-Processing Circuit gives +3.33Sanity Meter.png/min and 20% Resistance to negative Sanity Auras.
Hardy Circuit.pngSuper-Hardy Circuit.png Health Circuits now offer static damage reduction that applies before armor (2 per Hardy, 5 per Super-Hardy).
Gastrogain Circuit.pngSuper-Gastrogain Circuit.png Gastrogain Circuit now also slows down your Hunger drain by 7.5% per Circuit, while Super-Gastrogain Circuits significantly reduces negative stats of food. A single Super-Gastrogain Circuit reduces the negative stats by 50%, adding a second reducing them by 75%, then using 3 completely negates negative stats, and 4 actually turns them into stat gains with 25% of the original negative stat value now being positive (0Super-Gastrogain Circuit.png = -20Health Meter.png, 1Super-Gastrogain Circuit.png = -10Health Meter.png, 2Super-Gastrogain Circuit.png = -5Health Meter.png, 3Super-Gastrogain Circuit.png = 0Health Meter.png, 4Super-Gastrogain Circuit.png = +5Health Meter.png). Each Super-Gastrogain Circuit also makes your Charge Meter take 20% longer to lose 1 Charge.png.
Acceleration Circuit.pngSuper-Acceleration Circuit.png Speed Circuits now give you speed after you run non-stop for a certain amount of time, adding 1.5% speed per game tick up to a limit determined by the amount of Super-Acceleration Circuits equipped (1Acceleration Circuit.pngSuper-Acceleration Circuit.png = 133%, 2Super-Acceleration Circuit.png = 150%, 3Super-Acceleration Circuit.png = 166%, 4Super-Acceleration Circuit.png = 183.333%), and if you reach high enough speed (not possible with one circuit) you enter a Rook charge. During the Rook charge colliding with any Mob other than small prey like Rabbits results in you and the creature taking damage and you getting knocked back if the Mob is tough enough. Once the player stops moving after gaining high speeds, their speed instantly goes below charge speed and starts decreasing slowly to the default value until you start accelerating again.
  • Health Decrease.png Damage sources that reduce Maximum Health, such as from Rats or Spore Hounds, aren't applied to WX-78.
  • Wetness Meter.png Wetness will reduce WX-78's Maximum Health.
  • Lightning Settings Icon.png Removed healing when struck by Lightning.
  • Zaspberry.png Zaspberry and Zaspberry Parfait.png Zaspberry Parfait count as electric food and refill all of WX-78's Charge.
  • Bio Scanalyzer.png The Bio Scanalyzer can scan Mobs from Uncompromising Mode for Bio Data.
