Thermal Vent

Thermal vents are a naturally spawning object introduced in the Calm Before the Storm update. They spawn in and around Sea Weed colonies in Rough Ocean biome.
Thermal Vents can be picked by hand to obtain 1 Sea Sludge. Its harvest will replenish after 24 minutes, or 3 days.
They can be mined to yield 1 Sea Sludge, with a 50% chance to yield 1 additional Sea Sludge. Mined Thermal Vents do not respawn.
A picked or harvest-ready Thermal Vent can be clogged up with a Sludge Plug. This will begin a 3-day timer, after which, the Thermal Vent erupts, releasing 4-5 Sea Sludge around itself. In addition, Nitre, Red gems, and/or Blue Gems may drop. The Thermal Vent is replenished instantly after eruption, allowing it to be picked for an additional 1 Sea Sludge. The Sludge Plug is destroyed in the process.
