Boomberry Plants can be found growing abundantly in clusters within the Hooded Forest on top of Sorrel carpets. They can be dug up with a shovel to yield one Boomberry or occasionally spawn a Fruit Bat instead. During winter, the plants will freeze and can be mined for one Ice instead. Digging a Boomberry Plant that is still regrowing will remove it and drop nothing.
A ripe Boomberry Plant will attempt to explode when a character or a mob stands too close. Wormwood and aerial creatures will not trigger the explosion when in range. Exploding Boomberry Plants deal 60 damage and will cause other nearby plants to also enlarge and burst, resulting in various chain reactions until all of them explode. Any character harvesting Boomberry Plants with a shovel will cause nearby plants to explode. If a Fruit Bat is spawned from harvesting, it will not trigger other plants to explode. Fruit Bats don't trigger the explosion when in range and are immune to the explosion damage altogether.
Tips[edit | edit source]
- Try digging Boomberry Roots that are further from other Boomberry Roots first, as to not cause a chain reaction and lose them all.
- After they burst, thin out the Boomberry cluster by digging the plants that are too close to each other to prevent chain reaction.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Boomberry Root and Boomberry were added in the Hooded Forest update.
- Characters have different quotes when the roots are still regrowing after bursting.
