The Frozen Pincer, also known as Ice Boomerang, is a drop from Abominamoles.

The Ice Boomerang, similar to the regular Boomerang, returns to the player after being thrown. The player must catch it by holding down the action key (default Space key) while it is on its way back. If it isn't caught after being thrown, it will hit the player, causing damage and freezing, losing twice the durability on return, and the player will have to pick it up from the ground in order to use it again.

Unlike the regular Boomerang, the Ice Boomerang can also freeze the target after a couple hits, similar to an Ice Staff.

On top of losing 10% durability per hit the Ice Boomerang will also spoil over time. It behaves similarly to the Ice Cube and placing it in the Ice Box will completely stop it from melting. It can be repaired with ice for 25% durability.

Tips

• The Ice Boomerang doesn't do enough damage to kill Rabbits and Birds in one throw (except for character with a damage modifier such as Wigfrid and mighty Wolfgang), but it can still be used for hunting and even capturing small creatures because of the freezing effect.
• If the player is wearing an active Enlightened Crown, the spawned Minor Gestalt will attempt to hit the target after the boomerang hit. This may finish off smaller mobs, or unfreeze mobs with enough health.
• When playing as Wolfgang, he may do more or less damage depending on his hunger level. He also receives the same damage multiplier from uncaught Ice Boomerangs.

Trivia

• If the player dies from being struck by an Ice Boomerang, the Morgue will show the Character's name under "Cause of Death".
• The Ice Boomerang can be seen in the Abominamole's sprite as it constitutes its tail.
