Driftwood Boat Corks are a sailing item crafted with 3 Sea Sludge and 2 Driftwood Pieces and can be crafted at the beginning of the game without having to prototype it. They can be used to plug up to 10 leaks in ships before running out of uses.
Unlike boat patches, Driftwood Boat Corks will not restore a ship's durability. And as such should not be used in situations where you're anticipating your ship will take a lot of damage.
