Shard-Scale Armor is a craftable armor item found in the Celestial Filter at any Lunar Altar. It requires 1 Enlightened Scales and 10 Infused Moon Shards, and the player needs to be near a Lunar Altar to craft.

While worn, hitting an enemy will create moon shards that orbit the player. A new moon shard will appear every three hits, with the player being able to have a maximum of 8. If you get hit or unequip the armor, the shards will all shatter immediately.

When attacking, the shards will begin to spin rapidly, damaging enemies they hit for 5 damage. Shortly after not attacking they will start spinning slowly and no longer deal damage until you start attacking again.

While worn or on the floor it provides you with light. The orbiting Shards will also increase the radius of the light.

Moonmaw Dragonfly not only drops the Enlightened Scales, but it will also drop Inert Infused Moon Chunks, which can be brought to the Lunar Island and mined there as a safe way to get the necessary Infused Moon Shards before activating the Moon Storms, and with no risk of them spoiling in the way.
This armor might have a large durability but, it's best used when you're not getting hit, so kiting should always be priority when wearing this to get the most damage possible.
Because it acts as an infinite light source, it can be a safe option to wear when fighting at night, or traveling in caves.
