Skull Chest

The Skull Chest is a structure that can only be obtained as a Rare Blueprint from Ancient Guardian.
It has 12 slots and shares contents with other Skull Chests, also opening a Skull Chest will reduce your sanity by 10. This makes it functionally very similarly to the Root Trunk from Hamlet.
All Skull Chests are connected to each other and the contents can be accessed by anyone. This means if you put an item inside, and there is another skull chest in another location any other player(s) can collect what you put in. there is no limit to this and anyone can put and take out anything from within them.
If all Skull Chests are destroyed, removed or otherwise inaccessible for any reason, the contents of the chest will be safe. They will not drop out of the last chest and instead be in a "limbo" where they will be inaccessible until a new Skull Chest is built.
Tips
- When opening this while Enlightenment is active, the negative sanity has no real downside, as no shadow creatures will spawn, and you can stay close to 0 sanity.
- Since the items in the Skull Chest are in a "limbo", storing items that would trigger a Rat Raid will not make you base seem messy to the Rats.
Trivia
- The Skull Chest was added in the Fight And Flight update.
- This makes Fossil Fragments renewable, by using a Construction Amulet to craft it for half the price, and deconstructing it for the full materials.
