Books are items craftable by Wickerbottom. They can be used several times at the cost of sanity to trigger several type of events. Only Wickerbottom and Maxwell can use the books.
Wickerbottom and Maxwell can no longer read books while insane. This is a togglable feature, however.

On Tentacles creates 3 Sickly Tentacles, which are green in colour. It has 5 uses and 3 to 8 range as long as there aren't any obstacles in the way.
Tentacles spawned will eventually die, drop nothing, and are friendly to Wicker and other players.

Horticulture, Abridged grows up to 10 plants with edible harvest. Area of effect is within 7.5 tiles radius around the reader. Farm Plant grown this way will never be oversized.
The main change to this item was its crafting recipe. It is now 2 Papyrus, 1 Leafy Meat, 5 Manure.(Originally 2 Papyrus, 5 Seeds, 5 Manure)
