Monster Egg is a food item obtained by feeding an "Imprisoned" Bird any type of Monster Meat.

Monster Egg is toxic and will reduce Health and Sanity when consumed, with the exception of Webber, who will not take any penalties upon consumption. Similarly to Monster Meat, Using a Monster Egg in a crock pot will result in Deviled Eggs unless normal meats are used to dilute it.

See Crock Pot for more information about how cooking monster products works in Uncompromising Mode.

Cooked Monster Egg

Cooked Monster Egg is Monster Egg that has been cooked on a Campfire, Fire Pit or Star.

They can also be used in Crock Pot recipes, or given to Pigs to transform them into Werepigs. When a Cooked Egg spoils it turns into rot, not a rotten egg as it once did.

Icon Tools.png Usage

Monster Egg can be used as bait for meat-eating creatures, such as Spiders or Buzzards.

Giving Monster Egg to a Pig will befriend it. When 4 pieces of Monster Egg are fed to a Pig, it will transform into a Werepig and become hostile. Note that Werepigs always drop 2 Meats and 1 Pig Skin. This way Monster Eggs can be effectively turned into Meat and Pig Skin.

Some animals are carnivorous or omnivorous and will eat Monster Egg given to them or left laying around. If they are not immune to the negative effects of Monster Egg, eating it causes them to lose Health. This allows an abundance of Monster Egg to be converted to other resources by simply feeding these animals with Monster Egg directly or indirectly.

In a pinch, Monster Egg can be eaten to stay alive, at a cost.

Prototype.png Tips

  • Cooked Monster Eggs have lower monster value than uncooked ones, making them more viable to be used in Crock Pot dishes without resulting in Monster Lasagna
  • 4 monster Eggs can be "traded" for 2 regular Meat and a Pig Skin by giving them to a Pig and killing the resulting Werepig.
  • Wigfrid will take 25% less damage from eating it, resulting in only 11,25 and 3,75 damage respectively.
  • Wormwood and Webber are entirely immune to the damage caused by eating it.
  • Woodie can still transform into one of his Wereforms randomly by eating 2 cooked monster Eggs in quick succession, this will cost you -10 Sanity Meter.png and -10 Health Meter.png, a possibly good alternative to his Kitschy Idols, that deal -15 Sanity Meter.png and -20 Health Meter.png when eaten.

Placeholder.png Trivia

  • Monster Eggs were originated from the Feast And Famine mod. Permission was asked to add a version of it in Uncompromising Mode.
