Scorpion Carapace is a food item obtained by killing Scorpions. It will reduce Health and Sanity when consumed, with the exception of Webber, who will not take any penalties upon consumption. Like Monster meat, using a Scorpion Carapace in a crock pot will usually result in Monster Lasagna unless normal meats are used to dilute it. It cannot be dried on a drying rack. The best use for Scorpion Carapaces is turning them into Hard Shell Tacos.
See Crock Pot for more information about how cooking monster products works in Uncompromising Mode.

Grilled Scorpion Carapace is a Scorpion Carapace that has been cooked on a Campfire, Fire Pit or Dwarf Star.
Scorpions that die from being set on fire, will drop a Grilled Scorpion Carapace instead. Cooking Scorpion Carapace on a Campfire/Fire Pit reduces its toxic effects.
Usage[edit | edit source]
Scorpion Carapaces can be used as bait for meat-eating creatures, such as Spiders or Buzzards.
Giving a Scorpion Carapace to a Pig will befriend it. When 4 Scorpion Carapaces are fed to a Pig, it will transform into a Werepig and become hostile. Note that Werepigs always drop 2 Meats and 1 Pig Skin. This way, Scorpion Carapaces can be effectively turned into Meat and Pig Skin.
Scorpion Carapaces can be fed to caged birds to produce Monster Eggs.
Some animals are carnivorous or omnivorous and will eat Scorpion Carapaces given to them or left laying around. If they are not immune to the negative effects of monster products , eating it causes them to lose Health. This allows an abundance of Scorpion Carapaces to be converted to other resources by simply feeding these animals with Scorpion Carapaces directly or indirectly.
In a pinch, Scorpion Carapaces can be eaten to stay alive, at a cost.

Tips[edit | edit source]
- 4 scorpion carapaces can be "traded" for 2 regular Meat and a Pig Skin by giving them to a Pig and killing the resulting Werepig.
- Wigfrid will take 25% less damage from eating it, resulting in only 15 damage.
- Wormwood won't take damage from eating it (but he will lose sanity).
