The Alpha Volt Goat is a mob found in the Oasis Desert that spawns from a full Volt Goat herd attempting to spawn another goat above its maximum quantity of 6. It behaves as a living Lightning Rod; any Lightning that strikes in the vicinity will have a higher probably of hitting the Alpha Volt Goat, causing it to retaliate with extra lightning attacks directed at the players. Unlike most other creatures found in groups, attacking a Volt Goat will not cause the Alpha Volt Goat to become immediately hostile to the attacker.

It starts off as neutral, but if a threat, like another mob or a Player, is standing near an Alpha Volt Goat, it will start to paw the ground. After the third time, it will become aggressive. Outside of combat this counter will be reduced over time.

Alpha Volt Goats roam in herds and will reproduce every 1.5 to 2 days even if it's the last one remaining.

An Alpha Volt Goat takes 2 blasts from the Ice Staff to be frozen and 4 Sleep Darts to be put to sleep. Upon death, they will drop 3 Meat, a Volt Goat Horn and a guaranteed Electric Milk.

Tips

• Wearing insulated clothing will protect the player against the electric attacks from the Alpha Volt Goat.
• It's recommended to not fight Alpha Volt Goats during heavy rain, as otherwise they will have a chance of getting stuck by lightning and unleash a barrage of other lightnings back at the player.
